This season we are delighted to introduce our new gîte complex at La Madone.

Built in one the old horse stables and newly branded as 'La Petite Ecurie' This new and exciting superior gîte accommodation has been exclusively designed to offer a personalised service for an adults only experience.

Comprising of a large and spacious ground floor accommodation which is complete with a super king sized bed, a soft seating area, a wall mounted television and WIFI based internet services both inside and outside . Incorporated in this excellent space we also offer a fully fitted ground floor bathroom and a fully equipped utility room. The utility room boasts a range of white goods including a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and fridge.

Just outside the gîte , and within a few paces from the accommodation, is a fully functional summer kitchen which allows for external dining and offers a BBQ, a three burner Plancha an adjustable Paella ring, all powered by gas. Additional white goods also provide a drinks fridge and small freezer to make outdoor cooking and dining a real exciting experience.

If you are looking for a quiet and tranquil relaxation location why not laze on one of the delightful sun loungers in the lovely grassy orchard area just adjacent to the gîte courtyard. Here you will find open views into the fields that surround our peaceful retreat.

Of course the jewel in the crown at La Petite Ecurie is our stunning swimming pool and sun deck area that guests will have exclusive use of during their stay. Here you will also find more sun loungers, sun shades and a soft seating area with tables for food and drink to rest on.

When those warm summer evenings seem never ending why not take advantage of our outdoor cinema experince. Here you can watch a film on our enormous outdoor projection screen. This can be a truley magical end to a lovely day and complimented by drinks and food from the summer kitchen that is available just a few steps away.

La Madone

Privately owned by Mark and Heather Palmer we are based in a picturesque rural setting in Haute Vienne SW France.Here we are able to offer tranquil and relaxing breaks for Adult only couples.

Our Facilities

La Madone is a typical French farm complex based around a pretty gravel courtyard with barns and stables on either side. We reside in over 8 acres of beautiful French countryside with no immediate neigbours on any side.

Being located on the Haute Vienne, Correze and Dordogne borders in SW France we have much to offer for anyone wishing to visit this idyllic world famous and charming region.

How many people does your accomodation accept

We are an Adults only holiday gîte and have accommodation for 2 people maximum. The minimum age for adults booking is 20 years of age.
We provide one large super king bed only within our luxurious gite.

Can I bring a baby or small child to stay

We are offering accommodation for adults only, we do not have the facilities to accept children or babies. Any guests arriving with a child will unfortunately be turned away and their booking will be cancelled.

Are we able to bring a dog or pet to stay with us?

As we provide accommodation on a working farm we are unable to accept any clients animals. Any guests arriving with a pet will unfortunately be turned away and their booking will be cancelled.

Do you have onsite cooking and laundry services

We provide functional outdoor summer kitchen with gas powered cooking facilities. We also provide a fridge and freezer in the summer kitchen to store food and drinks for meal preparations. We also provide at no extra costs a small dishwasher, secondary fridge and washing machine in the utility room within the gîte itself.

Is the gîte swimming pool for exclusive use of the guests

The onsite swimming pool is provided for exclusive use by the gîte guests. The pool is unheated but occupies a very sunny position and provides comfortable all day swimming activity as well as being situated close to its own private sun deck with sun loungers and comfortable sofa seating.

Is there off road parking near the gîte

We have off road parking just outside the gîte complex on our property. This parking will accept medium to large size vehicles but does not accept off road camping or vehicles with trailers or caravans.

Does the gîte have good internet connections

The gîte complex has both internal and external Wi-Fi internet connections. Details of the internet access codes are shown within the welcome booklet inside the gîte .

Does the gîte have any internal heating for colder nights

In the colder months the gîte has a period style petite Godin wood fired stove in the main accommodation area. Wood can be purchased locally for use within this stove although we will provide enough for a few nights stay included in the rental rates.

We also have two small wall mounted electrical heaters in the bathroom and utility room corridors that provides comfortable background heating as required. This can be used and paid for by using coin operated meters.

Do you provide bedding and towels

We provide all bedding and towels for the duration of your stay. If you book for longer than 7 nights we will provide change over bedding and towels on request from day 8 onwards.

How far are you located from local facilities

The gîte complex is located in a rural setting about 4kms from a local town. The facilities within the local town include 4 x supermarkets, petrol stations, a post office, many leading Banks, doctors and hospitals and even a library and cinema. Restaurants are plentiful and we are happy to offer recommendations on request.

Onsite safety Aids

In line with regional guidelines, we are providing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the gîte complex. Additionally in the outdoor kitchen area there is a fire extinguisher and fire blanket for added protection where cooking takes place.

Cleaning routines on guest departure from the gîte complex

We are proud to offer high quality accommodation throughout the gîte complex and we would like to ensure our guests respect the cleaning routines and guidelines discussed during the welcome meeting. Summer kitchen food preparation areas must be especially well respected and before departing the gîte complex we would ask that all cooking items are cleaned and left in the same condition as they were presented to you on arrival. Cleaning aids including a hoover, brooms, wet mop, cleaning fluids and cloths are left in the indoor utility kitchen for guests to use during and prior to departure. Details of the required cleaning routines are included within the gîte welcome pack.

Can we charge an Electric vehicle at the gite

We have the facility to charge small electric vehicles overnight. There is a small management daily charge to provide this service and more details will be provided in the gite complex guide manaual

SMOKING POLICY

We operate a strict no smoking policy internally in the gite complex at all times. Smoking is only permitted outside in the pool sun deck or outdoor kitchen areas.

Deposit and Cancellation policy

A 50% reservation deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your required dates. The outstanding balance must be paid 4 weeks prior to your arrival date.

If you cancel within the 4 weeks of your arrival date, a cancellation fee will be applicable and will equal the price of your 50% reservation deposit.

No show policy

Refunds are not given if you fail to show up on your arrival date.
A no-show fee of 100% of the total cost of your holiday will apply.

Check in and out times

Daily check-in times are 15.00hr to 20:00hr
Daily check-out is: up to 10:00hr

Special arrangements to vary check-in or check-out times can be made on request. Additional charges may apply if adjacent rental periods affected.

Is your site suitable for persons with restricted mobility

For anyone who needs wheelchair access we are not suitable I am afraid. All our accommodation is on a ground floor level but there are steps and uneven surfaces as we are based on an old farm site.

Beautiful place to stay with everything you can think of provided for you, 5* hosting. Exceptionally clean, spacious facilities both inside and out by the poolside. What a superb place to relax and enjoy the French countryside! A perfectly situated location. Extremely well appointed rooms and coordinated furnishings, very comfortable and inviting, a real chill-out experience. The proprietors are exceedingly friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I will be returning here when I can and recommending this experience with all my fiends and people interested in a lovely break in the French countryside.

Wat een heerlijke plekje is dit, onder weg naar Spanje in Januari kwamen we langs de Gite La Madona. Een prachtige ruime mooi ingerichte gite, met een heerlijk bed, een hout kachel voor koude avonden. In de zomer een mooi privé zwembad met zonnebedden, een buiten keuken met bbq en pizza oven. H .ier gaan wij zeker nog een keer terug komen. De omgeving is ook prachtig en de eigenaars Mark en Heather zijn zeer vriendelijk.

Wow! What a beautiful, perfectly thought out gite, in such a gorgeous setting!
